First 2 weeks!

 November 25, 2024 Sage began her 18 month mission! 

Her first week she was able to stay at home and do some of her Missionary Training. She woke each morning at 6:30.  Sage and her dad did about 30 minutes of exercise,  she ate breakfast, dressed, and began her hour of personal scripture study. At 9am she would join in with other missionaries online so they could learn more about the culture in the UK and do scripture study as a class.

From 12-1pm Sage had a break so that she could eat lunch and work on packing. She was able to spend time with her sisters, mom, dad, aunt, grandparents, and cousins throughout the week.

Sage joined back online with other missionaries from 1-4pm. 

She enjoyed her classes and hearing other peoples insights about scriptures. She would give us a summary during dinner and as we played games together in the evenings. 

On week 2,  December 2, Sage began her journey to the UK.  Goodbyes, for long periods of times, are NEVER easy!  Some of her family, that lived closer to the airport, came to see her off. 

Her dad got to fly with her to JFK where she had a 4 hour layover. He made sure she got something to eat, made it to her gate and met with the other missionaries she would travel to the UK with. 

Sage arrived on the UK at 1:30am our time and 6:30am her new time. She traveled to the Preston, England Missionary Training Center and began to getting settled in. 

We had the chance to do a video chat with her on Friday, Dec 6.  She filled us in on her travel, the food (she says is bland and NO flavor), her classes, and her trip into Preston. 

 She is enjoying learning more about the culture, the money system, taking forehead pictures, trying to find the sun (always cloudy or raining), her new lavalava,  trying not to get hit by cars that pass too closely, playing volleyball, trying to get Journey's duck in pictures, digging deeper into scriptures and having time for personal scripture study.
