Feb 3-10
Helloooo family, friends, neighbors, and fellow citizens! Today is probably going to be a shorter email because we're heading into London right now for p-day so enjoy the first thoughts that come to my scattered brain as I try and do a recap!
☀️Another Chill p-day at the chapel where we watched my new comfort movie the prince of Egypt yet again and still doesn't get old. We played so chair football that I won… twice?? Literally impossible but I think I must've been possessed my Messi because there's no chance that was my doing. Also ended the night with our friend Jahmai’s gourmet cooking! He wanted to surprise us with dinner so he COOKED! So thankful for this ward and for our friends 🙏
☀️ Found some amazing people and the conversations I've been able to have this week are so good! It's so cook hearing everyone's stories, where they're from, and to talk more about how much happiness can come from Christ!
☀️Happy Valentine's! Fun ward activity with lots of laughs and thank you to my dad for keeping traditions alive and for my Nana for fueling my pop-tart addiction! ❤️
Intersession: just saw a truck that is called Brittish Gas so… would hate to be in that truck
☀️We met a mother with her two kids who had prayed before she left the house that she would meet people who could help hernlearn more about church because she's just started working on coming closer to Jesus Christ and learning of Him! We talked for like 10 minutes and she said she wants to be baptized! We're teaching her now and it's such a miracle because we went to that area on a prompting after our previous plans fell through! GOD IS SO AWARE!
☀️Pranked! We received two prank referrals this week on different days so as we went to their houses they had no clue who were were and what we were doing there. One of their daughters opened the door and was so excited to see us so we were pumped thinking she's told her family about us! Turns out the daughter had put in the referral which we learned as she was filming and laughing at us talking to her mom who had no clue who we were… honestly amazing prank, it made me laugh and I respect the dedication so 9.5/10 (always room for improvement)
☀️Great exchanges with Sister Macababayo! I learned so much and I received a lot of answers I was searching for. Blessed to be in a 4 sister flat with our Sister Training Leaders 🙏
☀️Me and Sister Wilkinson are becoming to comfortable and are laughing at literally everything and even had a sleepover within a sleepover as we pushed our beds together to make mega bed!
☀️BAPTISM!! Our friend Emmanuel was baptized on Sunday along with the other sisters friend Farouk! It was such a great experience and they are so happy! It's amazing to see the joy they feel and I know this is a decision that will only continue to bless them!! Emmanuel even started teaching one of our other friends who came to church what baptism is… He's so good 😂
I was going to keep it short but to bad I have to much to say!
I want to end with something I learned this week! I've been really studying and trying to feel what it means to be a child of God. Sometimes it's so hard for me to feel what I know is true, like being a child of God but this week as I've really worked on that I've come to understand that the best way to feel that love is to know who's offering it. I've tried to really understand God's character this week and I can say that ive felt so much of His love this week through that! I haven't told my dad this yet so hopefully he reads this and cries because of how insightful I am, but the thing that helped me feel God's love the most this week was recognizing the love that I feel from my dad. He is such an example of perfect love to me and I know that I have never once doubted his love for me. This has made God's love so much more real to me and I know that fatherly love. Is. Powerful! Draw upon it! It's there for us to feel and He wants nothing more than for us to know He loves us! A quote I read this week from one of my favorite talks “God's Favorite” by Karl D. First
“Divine love never runs dry, and we are each a cherished favourite. God’s love is where, as circles on a Venn diagram, we all overlap. Whichever parts of us seem different, His love is where we find togetherness.”
You are loved, you are special, and you have a purpose! When you know your divine identity, you can see your divine potential and that is something to be cherished!
Love you all so much, sorry for writing so much but you will get over it! K byeeeeee see you next week!
Clean your Car Mats,
Sister Russell
