Good Morning, Day, and/or Evening to all! Here's another one for my avid readers and loyal fans! Let's see what I can remember about the week!
☀️Dessert Waffles for Breakfast?? Last p-day, we went to a place called ‘Gooey Waffle’ and had dessert waffles for breakfast and then had a very chill day at the chapel where I tried to learn ping pong and practice more chair soccer because ward members have now gone out of their way to come up to me and encourage me to practice… now do you believe me when I say I'm not good at Soccer??
☀️I have now been a witness to a massive drug bust when out finding so i can check that off the list! There were probably about 15 cops at the park checking people and shaking out their bags… oh beautiful Enfield!
☀️We visited with some amazing families this week and it truly feels so much like home! Perks of being in an area for 5 months is that you get to know people so well!
☀️We heart attacked a member's house it it was so much fun!
☀️Tips: if you ask for meal suggestions while out finding, you might be led to some authentic african cuisine that's tucked away in the far part of the mall and have some amazing Jallof Rice! I would assume…
☀️I might not hate cheesecake now?? Who am I??
☀️We were out knocking on some doors this week and we were trying to follow through on every thought we had so we were changing streets, switching sides, and just going with it. At one point we saw a cat that drew both of our attention and followed it to the door it was walking too! We met this woman and her two kids who have been looking for a church… I can't say it enough that God truly is aware of each of us! She's so amazing and I'm excited to see how she keeps seeing her prayers being answered!
It's been such a good and crazy week and there's probably so much more I could write but I must go shopping! So many blessings are unfolding in the area and all of our friends are truly so amazing! I'm so grateful for this time I have and I'm making it my goal to find joy in every single moment! As I've continued studying about patience this transfer, there is one quote from Dieter F. Uchtdorf in his talk ‘continuing in patience’ from April 2010, that really stood out to me!
“Patience means to abide in faith, knowing that sometimes it is in the waiting rather than in the receiving that we grow the most.”
When we are rushing through things and not taking the time to be patient, we won't see as much growth as we're expecting! I am so grateful for the gospel and for the growth it has brought into not only my life, but all of my friends lives as well! God's Plan of Happiness truly leads to eternal joy and if we're patient in the wait, we will see the most growth and joy!
Love you all so so much and I hope you have a fantabulous week and that you're able to prepare for conference this week! come to God with a question and you will get an answer that will always be what you need and when you need it! Keep it real and remember to stop consider the lilies!
Wash your Fruits and Veggies,
Sister Russell
