"These Two Mormon Girls Are With Me"

Here we goooooooo

I'm very sleepy and trying to write this early today so I can have fun without the impending deadline hanging over me… what a week though! My first week in Farnborough and I know this is already starting off to be such a great transfer! Sister Bird must be my missing brain cell because we are to alike. If you thought it was bad enough knowing one sister Russell, make it double. We must be sharing some branches on the family tree somewhere. I'll get to the week now!

☀️ Chill packing pday…is what it would have been had I not decided to challenge myself to pack within two suitcases with my carry-on stuffed in one of them. It was a fun challenge and will be doing the same next time I transfer. Gotta o have breakfast with the Greenfields again and say good bye!
☀️ Tuesday was Transferssssss. I got to see everyone again which was so much fun and I got to say goodbye to the dying missionaries. It's so weird to see the missionaries I know so well going home but I'm so grateful for the friendships and memories made. I meet with sister Bird and again, so much fun! We drove for 5hrs and 30mins that day as we got all the way back, then a sister in London called letting us know we still had their bag in our car, so we drove back to London, then back to Farnborough… whoop whoop! I ended the day getting to have a with a catholic Jehovah witness who was completely wasted which was fun. Also we saw to bikes with out the "ikes" as everything but the body and bike lock was stolen... tough crowd
☀️Wednesday was great! Helped a woman in a wheelchair to Sainsburys and went to help her get “just Two cans of tomatoes” which evolved into us carrying all of her shopping walking around the store. Long story short, she started screaming at some woman who came there to talk to her and kept talking about how the Mormon Girls were with her and we’re adamantly sharing how we're not with her just helping. It ended with her being arrested though… Farnborough is great! Dinner with Members and got to meet their guinea pig jaffa cake so all’s well that ends well!
☀️ Thursday, good times teaching a lot of really cool people so pray for the Farnborough area!
☀️ Friday!! Very much good. Not much, just dinner with a family from the ward. We got to share some Halloween sweets with them and this girl child, who is very much younger than me, is almost double my height… I know this is not a huge achievement but it hurts nonetheless.
☀️ Saturday we ballin’ out here. Met cool people, went finding and people would just turn and walk away in the middle of the conversation with no further word said. It makes me laugh so very funny. I will always respect the hustle ✌️🥹 We also got to do the poppy appeal stand with the members for remembrance day and the felon from Wednesday returned and asked us for a push to another place… we politely declined. The members got us some hot chocolate though so it was good! Got the craziest essay list of questions from a friend pulling out the deepest doctrine and ended with just the questions of “and do you do hymns?” also made a Victorian sponge cake
☀️ Sunday was so fun!! Met the ward for the first time and had a relief society lesson on the role of families and their importance to God's plan. One woman felt a bit upset about the topic for individual reasons and so she stepped out for a moment with another woman to talk about things. It's so great having that kind of support to know that no matter our individual circumstances, God has prepared a way for us to have all the blessings He's promised either in this life or the next and also that we have the support of those around us who will help hold us up! The meeting continues and another woman stands up and one woman calls to her, arms outstretched saying “no, no, please don't go!” and the other woman responds simply “I just need to go to the toilet.”.... I couldn't have scripted that if I tried. So good 👏 We also had lunch with the members which was fun to see all of their photos of their many travels.

What a week! I loved it so so much and I'm looking forward to all the time I get to spend here and the work to be done! Thank you everyone for your prayers 🙏 ❤️ I know that there is so much power in prayer and that we are literally able to have a conversations with our father who love us and cares. I've started a prayer journal recently a it's has been so good to be able to prepare for my prayers and have my mind in a place that's ready to have a sincere conversation with God who is surprisingly not tired of hearing from me yet. But I know that He will never be tired of hearing from any of his children, even me! Don't forget to pray!

Clean the Lint from your dryer,
  Sister Russell
