March 23-30

 Another one! The Yap Fest begins because I cannot be bothered to type for any more of my mission.


☀️ Monday at the Mendoza's! It was so much fun since we got to spend the day with some of my favorite members! Getting to play with their daughter Zoe, watching movies, making dinner with them (pollo chucko) and being taught Honduran dancing while learning that my hips do in fact lie. We also made a mango cheesecake that turned into mango soup with digestives as the center didn't set… We then taught some lessons. And came back home to continue doing the Lord's work

☀️ Tuesday was Zone Conference which means I got to drive into London again… the stress it brings me is unreasonable but it was worth it because the conference was so good! We did a good study of Nehemiah 6 and how we must focus on our purpose no matter what distractions arise. Came out of zone conference and got to teach our friend Alex who's getting baptised this Sunday!! Whoop whoop! Pray for him 

☀️ Wednesday back into London for interviews and appointments. If you truly want to learn how to have patience and charity, you need to drive in London and you will learn quickly. Alas, the interviews were great and we had a lot of fun getting to see President again. We also had the biggest battle of our life trying to find parking. We found a spot but could not register our license plate because the phone was not picking up anything we were saying on the automated system and it wasn't until we lied and said our car was gray that it finally let us through. Bless the man who was watching us scream at the phone for fifteen minutes.

☀️ Thursday we had a good time finding and we were able to go see sister Victoria again to read to her! We also finally got the keys to the stevenage sister's flat so we stayed in there to teach our lessons. We taught Spencer on the way home and had one of the most amazing spiritual lessons of my mission as we got to teach him how to feel and recognize the spirit. It was so special 🥹

☀️ Friday we met up with a new member who's just moved here from a different country. He hasn't been able to go to church in 7 years, but we were able to see him again, give him another copy of the Book of Mormon, and help him get to church this Sunday. He's so amazing, and we're so excited that we were able to help him get back to church. We also went to see Sister, Daphne and James followed by a family home evening activity at the church. It was great getting to be with everyone and we got to play a fun activity where they had to guess what was in the bag (Hint: it was a fox mask)

☀️ Saturday was a very busy day. We worked on arranging lifts, had a lesson with Benny and he's so excited to come to church! We met up with our friend Majid and we were able to give him a persian book of mormon which he was so excited about! We then went to Stevenage, and got to film a chapel tour for our friends and then we had a dinner to go to with the zahras and then a sacred contacting where I got the reps in while calling everyone for church 💪🙂‍↕️

☀️ Sunday is great as always. We got jump scared by the Bishop as during the intermediate hymn, he runs down from the stage to us in the back and asks if we can buy time because the program's running quick and he needs one of us to talk for a couple of minutes about prayer. Sister Byrne was quick to give the very diplomatic answer of “sister Russell will do it”...Suffering from success out here. We then went to have lunch with Maureen and she was telling us so many stories and randomly just dropped the line “its just who we are, but do we really know who we are?”... it was so random and profound and then she moved on like nothing happened. We came back home to do studies and lessons and one lesson with our friend Adrian confused me so much and I still have no clue what in the world he was talking about. It's a good thing the Spirit is the teacher because it ended up being a good lesson about prayer 🙏

As we are in this holy week. Try to find a new part of your life you can invite the Savior into. He is always with us in everything we do and when we intentionally take the time to recognize him, we will have peace and comfort.

Seven ways to say goodbye ✌️🥹

 Where to even begin. I never thought this time would come but here I am writing my final email of the mission. I'm going to skip the weekly recap and just talk about 7 things I've learned on my mission that have changed my life.   I am a child of God  this is something that I've always said but never truly felt until I came on my mission. I know that God has created me, I am His daughter, and He is doing everything He can to guide me back home. This is true for each and every person who has ever lived on the earth!   The Atonement of Jesus Christ is real! I can never truly express how deeply I feel about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His atonement was the single most important thank to ever happen on the earth and we would all be lost if not for Him. He is the creator, the messiah, our advocate, our brother, and our friend.   I'm running out of ideas for how to start these so have a picture of a dog playing the clarinet  Monday was our final district p-day and we went to the chapel to play some games when I learned speed Solitaire. It was good day no further comments at this time. Tuesday I don't remember much other than dinner with Peter Wilkins and it was so much fun! He told us some great stories about his mission in Montana and how he was able to utilize his English Accent for the work by posting flyers around the town about a sermon held by a visitor from England and the whole town came! I don't think I could get away with it, with my barely surviving southern accent over here    Wednesday we went to visit our friend Alan! It was so great and he's trying so hard to change his life which is so amazing to see. We were able to teach him more about God's love for him and it's a little hard for him to accept right now because of different experiences in his life but he's excite...
