May 18-25

Okay quick recap because don't have a long p day today! More on that later

☀️ Monday we went to breakfast with the Greenfields and ate some Chinese peanuts that he brought back from his holiday to China. They were the best peanuts I've ever eaten… we then were running back to the car to avoid getting a ticket but Sister Shaban's ankle decided to protest and stop, drop, and roll. Therefore, we got a frozen bag of peas from a good Samaritan neighbor and then went to the emergency room to learn that it was a bad sprain. The wait was t hours However so we had a nice relaxing p-day after that.

☀️ Tuesday went finding in reading and had such a miracle as I did exchanges with sister Khoabane! We said a prayer that we would know what we needed to share on the street that day and we felt to share Mosiah 2:41. As we went to talk to everyone, we met this one woman who was talking about how happy she had been as she came back to Christ. We were able to share this verse with her and she said it describes perfectly how she felt. It was just so great and made even better by the fact that immediately after our finding and next meeting, we were 10 minutes away from slough and realized we had forgotten to get sister Khoabane's luggage 😅

☀️ Wednesday we went to the Summersgills for lunch and I got reunited with my dear Sister Shaban! Not much else for Wednesday other than finding and teaching. We did teach Felix's friend Maxwell and he is so excited about the Book of Mormon!

☀️Thursday we had a service, and by service I mean a funeral service. We were asked to usher in the morning for the funeral of a woman and they told us the dress code was yellow and purple… we were so relieved when people began showing up in said colors as we truly thought someone was playing a crazy prank on us and that everyone would show up in black. After the funeral, and our district meeting, we began yet another exchange with Sisters Stoddard and Candido! Sister Stoddard got to see slough is all its glory as we watch a man get out of his car, run up to the car in front of him, and start punching the driver through the window. Shouting ensues and we drive away as these two men just scream at one another and then speed away… We got to teach some great lessons and went to McDonalds for dinner so all's well that ends well!

☀ ️ Returning Stoddard and reclaimed Shaban! Went to go see our friend James in slough and then ate lunch at the iraqi place again… We're regulars at this point. Friday didn't have too much going on so I'll spare the word count
☀️ Saturday we had lunch with Mama Eddy and learned all about her eccentric dating life, followed by meeting our friend who is married with 11 children but kept talking about how he wants to run away to America with me… needless to say we exited that meeting very quickly. Great finding After that and met some really great people. We had dinner with Brother Trevor and some of the senior missionaries! we got to hear a lot of mission stories about Dog Attacks, the Japanese Mafia, and the normal accidents and injuries that come from putting two 18-26 year olds together in a foreign country.

☀️ Sunday was incredible. Our friend Felix entered into the waters of baptism and it was so special!! Thank you for your prayers! Our Sunday started with us watching a broadcast all together of the apostles Elder Cook and Elder Gilbert. We then got to have Felix's baptismal ceremony, which was so special. I got to have the honor of fishing out the 3 spiders that had fallen into the front while he was getting ready. Dead spiders aside, the service was absolutely amazing and Felix bore such a powerful testimony that brought the Spirit. We then had a munch and mingle lunch with the members before heading back to the flat to do our studies and meetings.

This was one of the best days of my mission today as we just got back from a devotional with Elder Gilbert and Elder Cook to the missionaries. We were in London all day, getting to have this event and it has strengthened my testimony of the Lord and his apostles. They truly said the things that I needed to hear, and as I fasted and prayed, I could see all of my questions being answered. I'm so grateful that the lord has continued to leave us with His representatives on earth..

Ok I'm tired of typing, love you all so much and stay tuned for next week!

Wear Sunscreen,
  Sister Russell
